Annie Sloan Chalk Paint

On our website and in our store, you will see that we sell Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. A lot of people come in and wonder what it is or why we sell so many colors of “chalkboard paint.” Annie Sloan Chalk Paint IS NOT “chalkboard paint.” It is a paint that dries with a matte finish and looks like chalk, hence the name. To get a different finish than the matte, you top off the dried paint with an Annie Sloan Soft Wax. Depending on the technique used, the finish can be a little more vibrant than matte or you can use a technique to achieve a lot of shine.

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint is unique because for most projects there is no sanding or priming required! Seriously! Just make sure the surface is clean and away you go! The paint can be used indoors or outdoors, on almost any surface (walls, cupboards, concrete, the list goes on and on). It is water soluble and dries quickly. The paint was designed so that you could finish a piece in a day.

With a variety of colors and techniques the possibilities are limitless on the looks that you can achieve. The colors are mixable so you can find that perfect shade that you want. Using techniques like distressing, two-color wash or adding a metallic guilding wax it is easy to transform a piece into a new family treasure.

Our staff at Niche DesignHouse are trained in the use of the product and can help you get started. We also offer a variety of classes to help you learn the basic as well as more advanced techniques. This is a very affordable way to update décor, walls, floors, cupboards and more in your home.

In addition to classes, we offer a space for you to paint projects and supply you with most of the products and tools that you may need! What a great way to try out the paint before making an investment!

The paint does not have a chemical or fume smell so it can be used indoors! If the mid-winter blues are getting to you, stop in to Niche DesignHouse today and pick up some paint for a great indoor hobby! You can see some of the great transformations on our Facebook page, Twitter, Pintrest and Instagram.
